No, it works for your current browser session. The URL: https://webauth.ncsu.edu/wrap-bin/was16.cgi?getuser is ONLY for WRAP authentication. It WILL NOT take a user to the Campus Directory unless they were directed to that URL by the Campus Directory, or whatever resource they tried to get in to that needed WRAP authentication. Instead, it will take them to the last place that WRAP redirected them in the past (Sysnews, for example, or nowhere for a fresh session). Dan's original link does it properly, since going to the Campus Directory, even unauthenticated, sets up the necessary steps to take you back to the Campus Directory after you've authenticated. Don't believe me? Close your browser completely, reopen it, and try again. Again, closing the barn door at this point is moot. But, I wanted to point it out in case we get calls about it. --chk-- Christopher King Asst. Director, Help Desk Services Office of Information Technology NC State University chris_king@ncsu.edu >>> "Cheri Renninger" 4/17/2009 12:37 PM >>> Chris, The link works for me. The original link takes you to the Campus Directory only if you've already authenticated via WRAP. If you're not already WRAP authenticated, it takes you to the WRAP page to log in and then directly to your entry on the Campus Directory page. BUT, this most recent email has bad URLs in it. The URL: https://webauth.ncsu.edu/wrap-bin/was16.cgi?getuser is NOT a Campus Directory link -- it is a link to WRAP. The original email had the correct link: https://ssl.ncsu.edu/directory/updatelisting.php Thought that folks should know. --chk-- Christopher King Asst. Director, Help Desk Services Office of Information Technology NC State University chris_king@ncsu.edu >>> WolfWise Implementation Team 4/17/2009 10:55 AM >>> GroupWise customers: The WolfWise system testing has been completed and the migration for all current GroupWise customers will begin at 10:00 PM tonight, April 17th. Email access will be available after 6:00 AM Saturday morning. Progress of the migration will be posted via the OIT Sysnews site http://sysnews.ncsu.edu/ . If you should experience any issues after the migration, please report them by sending email to help@ncsu.edu or by calling 515-HELP (leave a voice mail message after normal support hours). The Help Desk will open at 7:00 AM Monday morning for problem reports and OIT will have additional staff on hand for continued support. Below are the top five changes you will experience. You may check our GroupWise to WolfWise FAQs at http://www.ncsu.edu/wolfwise/faq/faq-migrate_GW-WW.php ( http://www.ncsu.edu/wolfwise/faq/faq-migrate_GW-WW.php ) for additional information. § User authentication will change: In order to log in to your GroupWise account after the migration, you will need to use your Unity (Portal) password. All users will now be prompted for their password whenever they open the GroupWise client. (Some users might be unaccustomed to this if they use GroupWise "single sign on”). You may change your password by visiting the Password change page at https://sysnews.ncsu.edu/passwd/ and modifying your Unity/Portal password. § Address Book information will change: The following fields in the Campus Directory will be used to populate the associated fields within the WolfWise Novell Address Book: preferred first name, preferred last name, working title, primary work phone, work fax, and primary email address. Please verify your Campus Directory information by visiting https://webauth.ncsu.edu/wrap-bin/was16.cgi?getuser to ensure the correct information is used for the migration. This information will be synchronized with the Campus Directory automatically at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Any errors that have already been synchronized will not be corrected until the next scheduled run! § User primary email address will change: The primary email address listed in the Campus Directory will populate the GroupWise “From” and “Reply-To” fields of a message header. Any replies will be sent to that email address so it is important to verify and/or set this address in the Campus Directory ( https://webauth.ncsu.edu/wrap-bin/was16.cgi?getuser ) prior to migration. These addresses will be synchronized over the migration weekend and will be reset to whatever is listed in the Campus Directory. § GroupWise client settings may change:Some client settings may change as a result of the move to the WolfWise system. These may or may not include such items as flags set for message receipts, work hours, name completion search order, view as plain text verses HTML, etc. Please confirm that your settings are set the way you'd like them after the migration. § GroupWise Instant Messenger and M+ Guardian (Spam Quarantine) authentication will change: The GroupWise Instant Messenger and M+ Guardian passwords will also be synchronized with the Unity (Portal) password. If you need to change this password, you may do so by visiting https://sysnews.ncsu.edu/passwd/ . Our currently-compiled list of questions can be seen on the WolfWise migration FAQ page at http://www.ncsu.edu/wolfwise/faq/faq-migrate_GW-WW.php . Keep checking this site as new questions may be added during or after the migration. You may also continue to check the WolfWise website at http://www.ncsu.edu/wolfwise for information, user documentation, and updates.
